Based in Eastbourne on the south coast, we are looking for an experienced Senior Surveyor who wants to further their career.

Ellis have developed an enviable reputation in Sussex and the Kent & Surrey borders for the high standard of delivery of construction projects across a wide range of sectors including Commercial, Ecclesiastical, Education, Historical, Leisure, Healthcare and Residential projects up to the value of £6m.

The successful candidate will require:

✓ Relevant qualification (eg RICS or MCIOB accreditation)
✓ HNC/HND or Degree qualified in a Construction related subject
✓ Experience across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, education & heritage
✓ Excellent communication skills demonstrating effectiveness in a negotiation environment
✓ Acute Commercial Awareness with proven ability to generate profitable outcomes.
✓ Focused on detail with proven time-management ability and organisational skills
✓ Sound knowledge of JCT Contracts and other forms.
✓ Design & Build experience desirable.
✓  Excellent IT skills including document management systems.

Responsibilities:

✓ Full responsibility for own projects
✓ Exercise full cost control of projects
✓ Ensure financial recovery of contractual entitlements
✓ Analysis, evaluation and negotiation of quotations/tenders from sub-contractors ensuring best value
✓ Prepare and manage detailed project budgets
✓ Collation of all reconciliations of costs and reporting of monthly cost reports

Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
